All I'm saying is...

I love love

So for the last hour or so I watched some inspirational youtube videos about Sanya Richards-Ross, Olympic Gold medalist,  and Aaron Ross, two-time Super Bowl champ. They’re so cute!! I’m inspired both athletically and romantically. Inspired to work even harder at being a healthy and fit young lady. Then I’m inspired knowing love is possible for all. College is pretty much over for me so the cutesy “college sweethearts” thing they have isn’t possible for me but it’s still cute. They’re really goofy and laugh a LOT! It’s so cute! Aaawwwwwwww!!!!!!!!


Ready

A couple of things I’m ready for:

1. School & to graduate - I’m planning on making this year one of my best. I’m all about work and class. A small social life will still exist but only with the people with a similar mindset. Not that I did before, but I can’t deal with foolishness. Graduation is the main goal.

2. My career - Once I get a personal training job I’ll be on my way. That will only be the beginning. There are so many jobs relating to health and fitness and right about now I want to do ALL OF THEM! Things like working on the corporate side of somewhere like Lifetime Fitness (which requires a different degree than what I’m currently going after), working for a fitness magazine (also requires a different degree), etc. I don’t know though. I’ll continue praying about it and let God lead me in the right direction.

That’s about it right now. Back to watching the Olympics! =)


Seriously Shaun T??!!

O M G!!! I’m in week 5 of Insanity, Day 37 and almost died a minute ago. Not really but I felt like passing out. This month every workout is MAX! Yesterday I did fit test and max interval circuit. I did fit test first and ran out of fuel mid-way because I didn’t eat before it. ALL BAD! For the first month of Insanity I never ate before my workouts so I thought I’d be fine. I usually just woke up, worked out then ate but not anymore! I have to eat at least an hour before these max workouts.

Today I did max interval plyo (plyometrics or jump training). I’ll just say that during this workout I said and thought some very un-Brittani-like things. I wanted to curse Shaun T out!! Seriously! I stopped SO many times. I had water (both tap and kiwi-strawberry Propel), gum, & my sisters cheering me on that helped me through this workout. I wanted to stop the dvd & sit down so bad but I didn’t. Adding to the madness is the fact that I don’t have the right shoes. Today was extra hard too because I’m very sore from the max interval circuit. Anyway, I don’t know how but I got through this workout. It was terrible x 20  but a crazy part of me is looking forward to tomorrows workout.

Also, I finally decided to buy some whey protein so I can increase my protein consumption and see even more results. Jillian Michaels has some through Pure Protein. I tried the vanilla creme shake with water and it was GROSS! It tastes like low calorie muscle milk to me and I can’t stand that stuff! So I added the mix to milk instead and it was a lot better.

Even though sometimes I want to slap Shaun T and mute him, this stuff does work. I’m more toned than I was before. Insanity is tough but if you push through it at your own pace, then challenge yourself you’ll see results.

Procrastinator still…

Soooo I’ve put off this paper until the last minute. It’s not really tough but I should’ve done it sooner. It has to be four pages, and I also have to create a power point presentation to go with it. I’m on the third page now but I really should’ve done this sooner.

Oh well. I’m writing about recommended nutrient intake for physically active people so it’s not hard at all. I just have to put all of my thoughts and the facts together so they’re not confusing then throw some anatomy and physiology in there and I’m good!

It’s due tomorrow at 9am. Then I have a final exam at noon. I’ve been studying for that so it shouldn’t be too bad. As long as my professor has the correct answer key this time. Half of her answers are usually wrong…smh ALL BAD!

Ooooook….I’ll get back to the paper now.


Insanity Day 25

One day I’ll stop procrastinating and do the workouts when I’m supposed to. Today I had to complete both the plyometric circuit and cardio recovery. TORTURE! Yesterday I kept putting it off until it was too late. Thank God I made it through both workouts though…barely.

My dvd skips too which is becoming a huge problem! It’s not a bootleg copy people, I bought the real Insanity set! Sooooo I need these dvds to work properly. I can’t send them back because it’s past 30 days. I guess it’s something I have to deal with for now.


Procrastinator

My laptop is on and I’m ready to do my homework BUT I’m also watching Tuesday’s episode of Pretty Little Liars (I missed it because I was running my boot camp). Soooo this homework will have to wait (lol).

I reached good numbers, especially doing power knees. I just hope I can keep making progress. We’ll see…three more fit tests.

Insanity Day 22

Well it’s Monday and Insanity wasn’t easy today. My sister and I made it though. Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs were the workouts. Call me crazy if you want, but I did P90X ab routine after those. I just wasn’t tired and wanted to work my core a little harder. It will pay off. Depending on how sore I am tomorrow, I’ll know if I need to step it up next time.

I forgot to post my results from the fit test I did last week so I’ll do that in another post.

Insanity Day 14

Day 14 of Insanity and I’m starting to see progress. We (my sister and I) had two workouts to complete today, Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs. My three year old niece joined in at one point too. She’s so precious! It wasn’t that bad because I took a break every time I needed to and cool blue Gatorade perform got me through (I had another Gatorade recover after the workouts). My heart rate reached the max about 5 times! I’ve come to the point now where I don’t have to check my HR watch to know when I’m at my MHR (max heart rate). Call me crazy but I like reaching that point. It’s when I know without a doubt that I’m working hard and burning fat. They say when you sweat that means your fat is crying. I like that! I mean, I don’t drip sweat like the people in the Insanity infomercials (THANK GOD) but I sweat enough. Although I hate to sweat my hair out, getting my exercise in is more important. Towards the end of the summer I may get braids or something so I don’t have to worry about my hair.

Tomorrow is rest day and then Monday is fit test. I can’t wait to see how much progress I’ve made. That’s it for now though. Until next time…

Insanity Day 12

Today I did two Insanity workouts, “Cardio Power and Resistance” followed by “Cardio Recovery”. Why? Because I let time run away from me and didn’t workout yesterday. After both workouts I drank a Gatorade recovery chocolate protein shake. It was delicious! It was more rich than chocolate milk but still good.

Now I’m studying and relaxing my body because I have to teach my exercise boot camp class tonight. It’s the second day and I’ll be there if it rains or not. I’m excited! I’m encouraging people to do their best in order to be their best!

Insanity Day 9

My day 9 was this past Monday. I’m a little late posting this blog. Anyway, Monday was rough! At one point I thought I’d pass out. Sunday was rest day so getting back into the workouts for the week wasn’t easy. My sister did it with me so we pushed through and we made it.

Also Monday might’ve been SUPER tough because I did the wrong workout. I wasn’t paying attention to the calendar and did “Pure Cardio” instead of “Cardio Power & Resistance”. Pure Cardio is NO JOKE! I don’t normally do that much cardio when I workout so to start my week of like that kind of sucked. But again, WE MADE IT! Everyone makes mistakes.

Insanity Day 7

Plyometric Cardio Circuit

Last Saturday I did Insanity with three other people. It was great doing the workout as a team and having all the support around me. Feel the burn! Then there was other people at my house who didn’t do the workout but cheered for the four INSANE people following Shaun T. He’s seriously NUTS but I do everything he tells me so I guess I’m crazy too.


Insanity Day 3

Seriously, Shaun T is crazy and I love it! This workout isn’t easy AT ALL but once I get to the stretches in the end, I’m excited! The workout routine changes every week and I know that I’ll never get used to them but the money is spent! I’m fine with that. Maybe this makes me crazy too.

Today was Cardio Power and Resistance! I wasn’t ready at all. My plan was to get up early before class and workout. Instead, because I was so tired and my body is so sore (good sore, the kind of sore that means results are coming) I stayed in bed. I didn’t do Insanity until around 1:30pm but I DID IT!

During: I prefer Gatorade perform but drank my last bottle of it yesterday. Instead I had water today for my workout. It kept me hydrated. I also had kiwi strawberry Gatorade Recover. Afterwards I ate a cookie dough Balance bar and drank 1% white milk. It’s good to eat the right things before and after a workout like this. Good fuel! Protein!

Just about my whole body is sore, especially my shoulders, but I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s workout. 57 days to go!!
