AUNT JAN SET ME ON FIRE!

Yesterday a fire was put up under me! Not literally but figuratively. What I’ve been waiting on for the longest has happened! I’m starting a fitness program in two weeks! It’s called “BRITTANI’S BOOT CAMP”. I’m doing it three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) and each session will last for one hour. Right now I’m working on the routine and everything, sending out flyers, setting up the facebook and twitter pages, etc. There’s a lot that I need to do before July 3rd, the day of the first session. I’m SUPER EXCITED to start!

My Aunt Jan and I talked for a long time and she gave me advice, encouragement and motivation to start and continue this. This is one of the reasons why she’s my favorite aunt on my mom’s side. I have her to thank for coming up with the idea and helping me think it through. It’s my dream (actually one of many)! Health/Fitness is my passion. It’s what I think about when I get up in the morning and when I’m going to sleep. Seriously! I’m soooo ready.

AAll I'm saying is...: A few shout outs!

Lately I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on the past year and plan for the future. I’m back home for the summer of course and taking classes at a local community college. This is very light work compared to what I’m normally doing during the school year so I have a lot of down time.

One thing I…

Tumblr won’t let me reblog it with all the text but you can just click if you want to read!

I just want to say this means a lot coming from Ms. Britizle! I don’t think I would have made it through all of those housing moments with out you! I’m glad I could help you along your journey and I will always be here if ya need me!

*Those are happy tears in that picture btw*

Aww shucks lol. The same goes for you, I’m always here!

I love all you crazy kids!^_^

Serious question, don’t laugh.

True or false? The only way to respond to someone on tumblr is to reblog them and type a note in your reblog.

I just tried to respond to someone and super failed so I just “liked” the blog and left it at that. I don’t do this enough to fully understand this whole process *shrugs* lol.

A few shout outs!

Lately I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on the past year and plan for the future. I’m back home for the summer of course and taking classes at a local community college. This is very light work compared to what I’m normally doing during the school year so I have a lot of down time.

One thing I plan to change is the people I surround myself with. I’ve always been driven and motivated to be successful so I have to be around like-minded individuals if I want to continue being great. There are just a few people that I can think of now who I believe will always be in my corner and who I will continue supporting. They’re GREAT young people and want the best out of life. Being around them keeps me motivated and focused on what I need to do. They also believe that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy (lol). So they know how to have fun just like me. I love that. A few of them are…

  • Alisha DraKarion - My old roommate who will do BIG THINGS for hotels. **That’s not her middle name btw, it’s an inside joke
  • TheJason - THE Marketing Man with a plan who is like a brother and has always helped me to see the lesson in everything I go through.
  • Antionette (“Rude a”) - keeps me on my toes & in touch with the political world.
  • Kagee - the blunt poetic connect. Always straight to the point & real.
  • BFF - spiritual and business. We don’t talk much but when we do it’s beneficial. She’s on the outside looking in to most issues so this helps.

These five individuals are great and I think have helped make my college (and high school for BFF) experience a great one so far.  There might be a couple more people but I can’t think of them now, sorry. Until next time…

A small part of the future…

What to do when…

Your mom/dad clearly doesn’t understand that they have something you need in order to survive. Like…hmmm I don’t know, a plate of food for example. Hypothetically speaking let’s say you opted out of going to a potluck dinner because you have two exams to study for. These exams are scheduled for the next morning. In order to remain respectful this is sort of how the conversation should go:

Parent: Yeah I made you a plate. I have it.

Kid: I know you have it. The issue is, you’re there with it and I’m here starving. I know you’re having fun and all but I can’t concentrate on an empty stomach.

Parent: I know and I’m telling you I have it. *Starts listing the delicious food on your plate being held hostage*

Kid (clearly getting more upset by the second): Bye mom/dad

Parents just don’t understand (Will Smith voice)

My first juicing experience!

Yesterday was my first juicing experience ever! The fruit and vegetables were in the refrigerator for the longest but I was a little nervous. I wasn’t sure how the juice would taste and didn’t want to waste good fruit and vegetables. Anyway, I used my sister’s juicer. Since it was given to her by someone who’s been juicing for years, the juicer is old-school. It works though. The only part that I hated was CLEAN UP! You have to take apart every piece and clean it separately.

The recipe…it was quite simple.

  • 1 green apple
  • green grapes (maybe a cup of them. I didn’t measure because I LOVE ‘em)
  • 1 small lemon wedge (peeled)

It was quick and easy once I cut everything. The machine was loud but the outcome was GREAT! My mom, sister, and stepdad tasted and liked it. Next time I’ll use an even smaller lemon wedge because there was an after effect from the acid. I’m having issues uploading the pictures so I can’t show you the outcome now. I’ll try and figure it out though. Until next time…

P90X Day 54

This week is recovery week for the 2nd month of P90X. Summer classes started this week so I’ve been a little behind on my workouts. Today I did Core Synergistics (which is actually tomorrow’s workout) and Stretch X. Before I started though I went walked 2.4 miles with my niece and oldest sister. Core synergistics was fine. I made some progress since I did it last month. Progress!

After I followed the stretch x dvd since it was scheduled for today anyway.

Tomorrow I’ll do yoga.

I don’t have much to say because I did the workout earlier and forgot most of what I planned to blog. Also my head is somewhere else right now. I’ll do better next time.

Be fit! Be healthy!

P90X Day 48

Today I did the P90X warm up and cool down but not the workout. I wanted to change it up a little so I went to the track and ran/walked 2.4 miles. It was great! There was an event up there called “Family Fitness” or something like that, so I wasn’t the only one there. There was maybe 50 people on the track at one time. I had a pretty good workout then went home to stretch. Pre-workout fuel: Power Bar Mixed Nuts bar and a little water. Post workout: water. I didn’t really eat anything because there wasn’t anything here that I wanted. We had salad but my mom was cleaning the kitchen and I didn’t want to be in the way. So I ate some dry roasted peanuts, cheese and crackers and called it a day. My balance bars are kept to eat after resistance training so I didn’t eat that. I only have one left anyway…need to go grocery shopping (lol).

Tomorrow is rest/stretch day and I think I’m going to stretch it out. My calves are really tight, core kind of tight, and quads a little tight so I’ll definitely stretch it out instead of just resting tomorrow. Until then…

P90X Day 47

Today I stayed in bed a lot longer than I wanted to but was still able to do my workout. On the days that I’m supposed to do Ab Ripper X, I do that workout before the major one. Today I used it as a warm up to the legs/back workout. Plus, I need my legs for some of the ab workouts (because it’s not only abbut core work) & didn’t want to be worn out. For the first time since I’ve started recording my reps/weight and what else happens during P90X workouts, I did the full 25 reps straight of each move. That’s 25 in-outs, 25 bicycles, 25 reverse bicycles, etc. with only a 20-30 second rest in between. Usually I do 15, then 10 reps of at least one move because I get so tired. Today I took my time and was able to do 25 reps straight. Progress!

Also, I put my chin/pull up bar up today! I’m a beginner so the numbers reflect that and I’m looking forward to making progress. I’m in no rush though.

Since I woke up so late (12pm instead of 8:30am) I didn’t eat anything before working out. It’s not recommended but I was in a rush. In order to get through it I had Gatorade, water, and Orbit gum. Normally I don’t workout without gum anyway because I grind my teeth sometimes. Anyway, those three things got me through. Afterwards, I drank my last chocolate milk! I’ll make a grocery store run for more tomorrow because I’ll need it next week. Or I’ll just look online and order some Rockin’ Refuel. It’s a great protein drink that tastes like a vanilla milkshake! They order it at work for the athletes so I know it’s legit.

Tomorrow is Kenpo X. I’m feeling a bit under the weather though so I might just go to the track and run a few miles. That’s IF I wake up early enough in the morning. I hope so. *fingers crossed*

P90X Day 45

Day 45 was back, biceps, and abs. That wasn’t bad and I really enjoyed it. I think it’s my favorite one mainly because I like toning my arms. My chin/pull up bar wasn’t together yet (I had to go buy another one) so I had to do other back workouts. My left warm was more fatigued once I reached the end of the workout. Other than that I can’t remember any other important things that happened. At the end, I drank chocolate milk and had my balance bar as usual. That’s about it.

Be fit! Be healthy!
